I've had some difficulty with a mirror over my fireplace. It's large and difficult to hang. My lovely neighbor helped me pick it out and I really need to get it hung.. Any suggestions on how to hang it???

I want to paint over my large white wooden bedroom furniture with a deep dark brown color. I'm not sure where to start with this. What is the best way to prep/ strip the furniture and then paint it? Do I paint the drawers first?

I will be sure to bring pictures, dimensions and one of the knobs so you can get an idea of what I need!

I have been thinking of pepping up our concrete patio for a while now and wanted to explore staining it (with a safe stain that doesn't harm my adjacent plants) I'm not sure how much work, what is the best product, how long it will last, and what the process entails.....I would love some suggestions for other solutions different from staining as well. The patio is on the north side of the house so it gets rather moldy over time and we have to power wash it to keep it from getting slippery and slimy....I assume anything we do will have to keep that in mind. thanks!

My favorite place to commune with nature is California wine country. There's something intoxicating about seeing and smelling the fruit still on the vine! (No pun intended. :-) )

Stop in at RR1 on Ashland - one of my favorite shops in Chicago. It's in an old apothecary, much of which has been kept intact. All kinds of neat gifts, I always find something even for my impossible-to-shop-for sister. Yes, they carry Tatine candles! The letterpress cards are fabulous.
