Recently, we received an email from one of our tastiest vendors, Callie’s Hot Little Biscuits, letting us in on some exciting news. They have launched a nationally syndicated show on PBS called “How She Rolls.” The show chronicles the life of Carrie Morey, the owner and founder of Callie’s, and can be seen Saturdays at 1:00 pm on WHUT. (It can also be streamed on Prime, Apple tv, and pbs.org). Naturally, as soon as I heard this I had to binge-watch it. Ten episodes at less than 30 minutes apiece didn’t take long. Learning about other entrepreneurs’ journeys is fascinating to me. I love to see where they started and how they have gotten to
their current place.

“How She Rolls” did not disappoint. I could really relate to Carrie’s need to start a business. It all stemmed from wanting to build something and work, while still being flexible enough to be there for her three girls. That’s why I started a business. For a long time, I felt like a stay-at-home mom who has a store. It was important to me to be able to pick up the kids from school, go on field trips, co-op in their preschool, take them to all the practices, all while building something they could be proud of.

Now that the kids are getting older, I’m transitioning into a business owner that has kids and it seems as though she is too. It felt like we are on a similar path and that really resonated with me. If you love a good success story, then do yourself a favor and check out “How She Rolls.” Oh, and pick up Carrie’s tasty grits, biscuit mix, and cheese crisps at Red Barn Mercantile today!
